Photography 1

Back when I was in high school I distinctly remember my father asking me what I wanted to do for art. Me and him had attempted to learn to draw, which I certainly didn’t keep up with well enough to do anything better than doodles, even to this day. I attempted my hand at creative writing but I always had more of a knack for more technical, scientific writing. I wasn’t entirely sure.

Then he suggested photography.

My parents have always, always been very supportive of my (many) hobbies so he went all out, bought a very nice DSLR at the time and a handful of lenses. I remember the very small book we read to learn the basics then just went to go shoot. I finally had something artistic I enjoyed – that gave me some sense of fulfillment and expression, which I think everyone needs.

That was almost 14 years ago at this point, and I didn’t really keep up with it since he had the camera and I was away for a good bit of it.

I recently made the decision to get back into it, to express myself and do what I can to show art. I can be overly harsh on myself and what expectations I have but I just enjoy creating. The original primary purpose of this blog was to show my photography to someone, as I don’t have a lick of social media. If you are here seeing just this small glimpse of how I see the world, thank you.

These are still some of my earlier shots, and I still have an absolute ton to edit and make how I want, but I’m very pleased with the results. I know there will be more to show and hopefully some of this rust can be shaken off to give the closest view to how I see this beautiful world.
